Justine started her role as Director of The Arboretum in February 2020.

Justine Richardson brings a life-long passion for science and nature and a strategic storytelling approach to leadership in cultural spaces. For more than twenty-five years, she has worked in interdisciplinary university environments with a wide range of experts and stakeholders to further research, teaching, and community-engaged outreach for postive change. Justine studied history of art at Yale University (BA), cultural studies at Michigan State University (MA), and has training in community organizing, undoing racism, and documentary media production. Justine grew up in the Carolinian forest of the Appalachian Mountains of Whitesburg, Kentucky. She has lived in Guelph, Ontario, with her family since 2004.
