Volunteer - Plant Nursery Group

Body:

Due to current circumstances, The Arboretum's annual Plant Sale has been moved online for 2020. We hope to see everyone, including volunteers, in-person next year.

The Group meets Monday mornings, 9:00 – 12:00 noon, mid March to actual Plant Sale date, 2nd Saturday in September each year. Volunteers complete a variety of tasks from the seeding/germination stage to the potting stage. Then they tenderly care for all plants, including donated plant material, up until the actual Plant Sale day.

The land where The Arboretum now grows has been home to plants and animals for thousands of years.  It was home to Indigenous peoples before settlers arrived. We recognize the Dish with One Spoon territory, the treaty lands of the Mississaugas of the Credit, and the Between the Lakes Treaty 3 lands on which the University of Guelph and The Arboretum now sit. We are honoured to work on and care for this land.
